I have a basketball athlete background. I’ve been playing since I was in primary school. Then, I ended my basketball career at the Women Indonesia Basketball League in 2015. In the middle of 2015 I started to run. My first marathon was Sundown Marathon in Singapore, July 2015. It was my first ever long run and was so painful. But, after that I still continued to run a marathon every month. I realised, my passion was not on the road. I joined Bdg Explorer community and started to run on the trails in November 2015. It was Bromo Tengger Semeru Ultra 70K. It was my ultra trail race debut. I finished at 10th place women. I never thought that I would run any ultra trail marathon. Because I don’t have any basic training in track and field or even mountaineering. But, I never lose hope and always train to stay in good shape. I’m motivated and feel passionate on the trails. In 2016, I quit my job and started to focusing as full time trail athlete in Indonesia. I’m so grateful I live currently in Bandung City. It’s surrounded by mountains. I have so many friends who always motivate me and a good coach who guides my training program. I had a dream, one day I want represent my country through trail running. So, my goal to join in Asia Trail Master career. In 2016, I was 5th rank of Asia Trail Master Championship series. In 2017, I was 3rd. I manage not only my training program, but also my nutrition. I decided to be a plant-based athlete since end of 2017.
Up Close, and Personal
To me, sport is…
A lifestyle, adventure, competition, and building friendships.
On a typical training day, I do…
I do: running and go to the gym for strength training
I eat: rice, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, and any plant foods.
I wear: comfortable apparel (Compressport and Hoka One One), Hoka One One shoes (Speedgoat 2 is my favourite), and Suunto sport watch
I listen to: everything with up beat music.
I recover by: sport massage and ice bathing.
I cross-train by: cycling, swimming, and playing basketball.
My idea of an effective weight training session is…
Set your goal, plan your training program, and always enjoy everything you do.
The three biggest lessons I have learnt so far in my athletic career is…
1. Respect my body.
2. Never give up and stay motivated. Even a pro once was a beginner.
3. Enjoy everything I do.
Before a big race, I tell myself…
This is my race. I’ll do my best and I believe on my training program. I will enjoy it and keep smiling all the way.
The toughest race of my life was…
Beach Bunch’s Trail Challenge in Brunei. It’s not technical but the weather conditions make it tough. It’s humid, hot with high temperature, and the route is looping.
The most memorable moment of my sporting career so far…
The first time I won Beach Bunch’s Trail Challenge in 2017 was my first victory race outside Indonesia. Then I came back in 2018 and be a defender champion, also break my old course record by 51 minutes.
My training sanctuary is…
Mountains with some partners.
My dream starting line is…
Western States Endurance Run.
I nourish my soul with…
Travelling, adventuring, eating, making friendship, and praying.
I have chosen to associate with Unived because…
We care of our life and environment. I want to inspire every woman not only in trail run but also being healthy. Unived focuses on vegan supplements and sports nutrition products, and helps optimize athlete performance. I am a plant-based athlete and Unived’s values are very much in line with mine.
