Myth buster: COLOX vs NSAIDs: A categorical distinction
NSAIDs block either COX-1 or COX-2 pathways and address only the production of prostaglandins, leaving the 5-LOX pathway open for synthesis of leukotrienes.
Furthermore, NSAIDs have no supportive mechanism other than the temporary suppression of pain and inflammation.
COLOX exerts a double action in the inflammatory path by blocking both COX-2 and 5-LOX, enzymes that are responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes, respectively.

Vitamin K2-7 referred to as Menaquinone, and its main roles are to support calcium metabolism and prevent calcification of the arteries. Shortage in vitamin K2-7 means that proteins such as osteocalcin are not able to perform their function and the calcium is lost into the blood stream instead of being deposited onto the bones.
- It was reported a vitamin K-mediated suppression of IL-6 release in LPS- challenged primary human fibroblast cell cultures.
