From the humble dal to the most luxurious biriyani, turmeric is used to enhance the flavors of a plethora of Indian dishes. However, today we bring you 2 quick recipes to enjoy the goodness of turmeric with a fresh, rejuvenating twist. Both these recipes are vegetarian, gluten-free and vegan friendly.
Anti-Inflammatory Watermelon Pineapple Turmeric Smoothie
2 cups watermelon
1 cup pineapple chunks
1 peeled and de-seeded orange
½ cup coconut milk
1½ cups coconut water
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
Blend together, till smooth and frothy. Enjoy chilled. Tastes best after a great workout, or with a salad!
Anti-inflammatory Ginger Tea
½ Tbsp turmeric powder
1 Tbsp fresh ginger, thinly sliced
A handful of chopped corriander
1 Tbsp olive oil
The juice of 2 lemons
1 juiced orange, or a sweetener of your choice
Boil all the ingredients together in water for 5 minutes. Strain, and enjoy this relaxing, detoxifying tea.
