I’m an Architect by profession. Cycling started purely as a form of commute to office. It was then that I decided to tag along with a couple of cyclists from my city and thankfully they were racers. That’s when the racing and training bug hit me. Since Jan 2021 I’ve been training regularly at a top level of the sport and the only way is forward for me.

I’m a huge believer of the quote “One for the kitchen, One for the soul”. In life, one for the kitchen would include anything that helps bring you your income, which helps bring food to the table. The other part of it is for the soul. Its something you do for yourself and none else. Cycling is something I do for my soul.

Up Close, and Personal

To me, sport is stands for…

Liberation. My escape from a monotonous life. Sport helps me focus on the way forward and what it takes to achieve the goal .

A sports personality I look up to…

Naveen John

On a typical training day…

I do: train on 5 days a week with a day of strength training off the bike and a recovery day.

I gear up with: cycling Jersey and bib shorts.

I eat: according to the training stimulus for the day. Recovery is fueled by food and sleep.

I listen to: a lot of pop, indie genres and sports podcasts.

I recover with: Unived Elite Recovery Mix and good sleep!

I cross-train with: strength training gym workouts.

My idea of an effective weight training session is…

One where I know I’ve given my best and emptied my tank for the required session.

The moment I discovered my athletic potential was…

On multiple group rides and after my first race wherein I got a podium too!

The toughest aspect of being an athlete..

Work-Sport balance.

The three biggest lessons I have learnt so far in my athletic career is…

1. Progression only comes from Consistency.
2. The goal is to be better than who you were yesterday. It’s you against yourself.
3. Quitting is never an option.
