To me sport is…
EVERYTHING . Whether it is volleyball or running, sports have been a part of my life since I can remember and I hope that my kids have a passion for athletics as they grow up.
On a Typical Training Day
My day usually starts at 4:15. I choose to train at this hour before my kids are awake and before my husband goes to work. I call it my “ ME TIME. “ Once I get home form my run, it is full time mom duty and running a small business, WAHOO! Running. I usually run 6 days per week and take one complete day off for recovery. I try to strength train 3 days per week so that I can have a more balanced approach to my training.

The most important KEY to weight training is perfect form. I am married to an Exercise Scientist and have learned the importance of proper body mechanics and how it relates to performance.
Before a big race, I tell myself
- Trust the training and the process
- Confidence comes from being prepared
- You run as hard as you can today, knowing the distance
The Toughest Race of my life was
The Cowtown Marathon in Ft. Worth, Texas. It was 5 months after giving birth. My two year old and infant were at the race cheering for me. I had to finish in a certain amount of tome so that I could get back to the hotel room to feed my baby and with that added pressure of running fast, I completely crumbled at mile 16. I had a panic attack and didn’t think I would finish the race. I called my husband and he walked me through every step of the last 10 miles of the race. It may have been my slowest race but looking back it was the turning point in my running career.
The most memorable moment of my sporting career so far
NYC Marathon 2018
In my opinion this is the greatest marathon of all time. It is so much more than just a marathon. “IT WILL MOVE YOU. “ I was fortunate enough to run it with 5 of my closest friends thanks to Michelob Ultra. ( Our sponsor in 2018 )
My training sanctuary is
I love to train in the WEE hours of the morning when the world is still asleep ( especially my babies )
Unived helps me by
I use RRUN Electrolyte Green Tea Mix 1-2 days prior to race day.
I carry a Unived soft flask during the first 6 miles of a marathon with the Green Tea Electrolyte mix so that I have fuel and caffeine on hand.
I use RRUN endurance gel espresso cappuccino at 1 hour into a marathon and 2.5 hours into a marathon.
I always carry caffeinated salt caps just in case on race day I need an extra pick me up.
Unived was part of my Nutrition plan for RUN CIM And helped me come within 1 second of a Boston Qualifying time of 3:30:01.
I also drink coffee for athletes because I may or may not have an addiction to caffeine : )
