Career Highlights

I am a national level currently working in Western Railways.

  • I won 1 silver medal and 1 gold medal in Mumbai University half marathon in consecutive years.
  • I also participated in all India Inter University cross country championship 2011 held at Rohtak, Haryana.
  • I was podium finisher in various national marathons, viz., Goa Marathon, Bengaluru Marathon, IDBI New Delhi Marathon, Vasai Virar Marathon, Tata Mumbai Marathon etc.
  • I am India record holder of longest relay run with the 7 other runners.

I started this journey from school time. I was Kho kho player at that time. With that I also started running. I ran first road race at Thane, in Thane Varsha Marathon in the year 2007. In 2009, I won first Mumbai University silver medal. That’s the turning point of my Running career.

To me, sport stands for…

Running is oxygen for me… Without that I can’t live.. Running is everything for me. Running is my passion.

On a typical training day,

I do: Up Hill workout is my favorite workout. That improves me a lot. Tempo run, interval repeats, Long run, fartlek workout are also important.

I eat: I just try to eat home made food only. I avoid junk food. Because that affects our digestive system. And I eat fruits, sprouts, dates daily.

I wear: my favorite running shoes are Nike Pegasus’s turbo 2 and Nike zoom fly.

I listen to: I like to listen old songs to refresh my mind.

I recover by: I recover myself with my favorite recovery drink, Unived Elite recovery mix.

My idea of an effective weight training session is…

Do up hill repeats weekly once, that helps you lot for improve your strength and speed. Interval workout are also most important for improve your speed. Long runs are important for your endurance and to check your leg strength n capacity.

The three biggest lessons I have learnt so far in my athletic career…

Be sincere with your sports. Always try to give your best. Never give up. If your started just try to finish in the royal style. Your competition is with you only, just try to give your personal best everyday. Beat your yesterday.

Before a big race, I tell myself…

I am a champion. I just think that, my competitors are also human being, I can do anything, I also beat them. Just Never give up.

The toughest race of my life was…

It’s IDBI New Delhi Marathon 2020. Route was awesome for that run. But, that’s a national Marathon, where all participants are from various part of India and departments too. So many runners are from Indian Army, Navy, Railways etc. But I finished overall 3rd in that run.

The most memorable moment of my sporting career so far…

When I won gold medal in Mumbai University half marathon 2011 with the time of 1hr 13min 43 sec

My training sanctuary is…

My training grounds are Mumbai University Stadium, and Kausa stadium, Mumbra. I do my long runs and hill runs at Ambernath, Thane only.

My dream starting line is…

My dream is to represent India in the Olympic games.

I nourish my soul with…
