Career Highlights

  • Marathon-3:17
  • 100k-9:40
  • 100M-19:41
  • Broke 6 Malaysian records in my first 24hour race despite it not going to plan.
  • Holds the fastest 100km time overall in Malaysia and  is in the top 10 marathon times in the country as well

I started ultra running in 2019 and have had a pretty good few races. Apart from fuelling my runs with Unived, I am a keen cook and baker. I make sourdough boules every 2 days and love drawing patterns and designs on them. I love cake, and when occasions arise I make macaron towers, wedding cakes etc in the name of fun!

Up Close, and Personal

In 2020, I am setting my sights on…

Goals

  • Smog Graham Round FKT
    Gloucester 24 elite race

The moment I discovered my athletic potential..
When I did my first 100 miler (and ultra) in a storm with 86mph gusts and freezing rain in a sparta qualifier time of 21:36! Wasn’t pretty, but I did it!

The most memorable moment of my sporting career so far
Crossing the line at the Flitch Way 100km with a sub 10 hour time despite having to climb over a fallen tree 20 times!!

I nourish my soul with
Running in the trails without a distance or time in my head!

Unived helps me by
Fuelling me for my races adequately and recovering well with the coco turmeric latte!

I have chosen to associate with Unived because
Products are created with science and the flavours are just ace (I love how salt is added to many flavours as that is totally what I crave!).

My dream race is
One day doing an iconic trail race well like Lakeland 100/UTMB once I’m done running in circles!

To me, sport stands for
Me time – disconnect from technology and focus on my mental state!

My idea of an effective training session is
When you feel beasted during the session and come out feeling satisfied (and a little broken) at the end…

My training sanctuary is
Yorkshire trails!

The three biggest lessons I have learnt so far in my athletic career

  • Fuel properly in an ultra and do not stop fuelling
  • Run with joy
  • Work hard and don’t take shortcuts

The toughest match of my life was
Tooting 24, when I stopped fuelling after 15 hours. It was my first 24 hour race in the 9th month of me starting ultras and quite a novice really! I had trained pretty hard and was very disappointed in 185+km and it took me a while to find drive again (3 months). But during my time off I had worked out a new nutrition strategy and found Unived gels, and subsequently PB-Ed on my marathon and did my first 100km run without similar issues.
